Music of Burt Bacharach

In this course, both soloists and back- ground singers will explore and sing classic songs by Burt Bacharach in
preparation for an end-of-quarter student performance. Learn proper vocal technique, stage presence and interpretation, while learning how to find the appropriate keys, sheet music and tracks. Participants are welcome to bring in their favorite Burt Bacharach songs to sing. The ability to read music is not necessary. A professional accompanist will play for the class. Open to all levels.

Classes usually require a minimum of 3 students to run and may be cancelled due to low-enrollment. Students who have enrolled in a cancelled class will be notified of the cancellation by phone and email at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled class start date. A full tuition refund will be issued.

The Jazzschool

The Jazzschool is the California Jazz Conservatory's community music school, located in the heart of Berkeley's vibrant Downtown Arts District. For over 20 years, the Jazzschool has taught jazz to instrumentalists and vocalists of all ages, from all backgrounds, and at all levels of playing and performance ability. Over 100 educational classes and workshops are offered every quarter, from learning how to play an instrument to honing performance skills. The Jazzschool offers opportunities year-round: Long-term Performance Ensembles and Classes; Camps and Intensives; and short-term Workshops.
