Prerequisites: Information Design I & II, and Interaction Design or equivalent experience.

This one-day seminar covers usability and design principles for mobile devices. Mobile UX design involves different design patterns, interactions, and gestures. In this class, students will learn about user behavior with mobile devices, designing for touch, and delivering content more effectively. This class focuses on designing for mobile web sites.

Who are College of Extended Learning classes for?

Extended Learning students are degree-seeking SF State students, working professionals, students who have completed their formal education, students wanting to take a program that is not offered as a degree (such as our internationally recognized Multimedia, Design & Development program), and the general public. The College offers academic units, continuing education units, online classes, and non-credit courses. Some programs are also available for students who want to complete advanced academic degrees and certificates.Where are classes held?

Most Extended Learning classes are held at one of two locations in San Francisco: 835 Market Street, 6th Floor, at the Westfield Centre and 1600 Holloway Avenue at 19th Avenue.

We also offer courses at Sierra Nevada Field Campus and Cañada College.

Who is our faculty?

Extended Learning utilizes a combination of SF State faculty and expert practitioners from the community to teach our courses. Because we can offer programs to meet the demands of the marketplace, we have the capacity to create and deliver opportunities for learning that are high quality, reasonably priced, and accessible to a broad segment of the larger community.
