Basic Photography Class

basic photography

This is the Cork and Click Basic Photography Class and Wine Tasting Tour being held in Woodinville! Really, there is no better way to learn photography in our humble opinion. In the Beginning Class, we break down each of the basic photography terms into practical applications with exercises, because that is how I learned. There is no pressure to get it right the first time!
Our classes are done in a small group setting of 6-8 people. We use hands on exercises so you learn by doing.

What you will learn

  • A quick tour of all of those settings on your camera
  • What makes up a properly exposed shoot
  • Understanding Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO. How to isolate each of them and why it’s important
  • Metering
  • Shooting in Manual Mode

What you need to bring:

  • Camera
  • Fully charged battery
  • Camera manual (if you have one)

Included in fee:

  • Hands on photography instruction
  • Wine tasting

At Cork & Click® we understand that things can happen that might cause you to miss a class or need to re-schedule. We try to be as flexible as we can because we work hard to provide the best possible experience for our students. We therefore ask that your provide at least 48 hours in advance notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your class..

Please understand that we keep our class size small so that each student will get the individual attention that we are known for. We send out reminders prior to our classes at least 72 hours in advance to ensure that you have plenty of time to make a schedule change if needed. Since our class sizes are small and we frequently have a wait list for our classes the following is a breakdown of our fees for cancellations.

If you let us know within 48 hours of the class, we are happy to update your registration to a future class with no additional charges. This allows us to get in touch with the students on our wait list and inform them that there is an available space in the class.
Less that 24 hours, 50% of the value of the class can be applied to a future class. We will work with you to re-schedule your class.
“No Shows” will not be able to re-schedule the class.
We want to do our best to provide the best possible experience for our students. We appreciate your understanding and adherence to our cancellation policy.

We teach photography using hands-on instruction in a small intimate group [that feels] more like a book club than a class room. We keep our class sizes around six - eight students and teach at different wineries in Woodinville. Not only do you get hands-on photography instruction, but you get to taste great Washington wines while you learn.

Christiana was great - she really knows what she's doing and helped get my wife and I off auto and understand the basics of how to use the camera. She was very conversational and really seemed to have an interest in if we were picking up what she was laying down! I know we're going to be taking many more and much better photos from now on!

I can't imagine there being a better beginning photography class. Hands down, one of the best ways I've spent a Saturday afternoon. Ben was engaging, patient, fun and so informative. Class was intimate and went over all you need to get started with your DSLR. Take this class! You won't regret it... And there's wine!

This is by far the best comprehensive class to photography I have attended (tried two classes before this). The classroom setting was small and intimate, every question was welcomed and answered patiently. The class packs in lot of good information where one feels satisfied when they leave at the end of it. I learnt a lot about my camera and infact Christiana was able to correct a few of the settings I had done while "thumping" around; resulting in mediocre pictures. Of course Christiana and Ben were super friendly, easy to talk with and were very knowledgeable in their field to provide clear crisp answers Since their class I have the confidence to carry my camera and practice shots to get to a better place. I am definitely going to sign up for the other classes they provide as I know for sure I will not be disappointed.

Took the beginners class at Patit Cellars. Christiana was an awesome instructor, she is very knowledgeable. She has the ability to explain camera settings in a language that anyone could understand.

What a fun night and a great way to explore Seattle as well as your camera! After just one evening, I’m finally off the Auto setting and using all the other settings on my camera. It was a great night spent, learning, playing and talking all while site seeing in downtown Seattle in a new light.
