Description
During this two-day workshop participants will design and create their own vegetable tanned leather handbag. No prior experience is necessary, and each student will learn the basics of leathercraft including pattern making and design. Students are encouraged to bring sketches and ideas, and I will walk them through the pattern-making process in addition to teaching the skills of our Intro to Leathercraft class
Classes run two consecutive days from 10-4 each day in our Seattle, Washington studio.
Registrations for classes cannot be cancelled once made. If you cannot
make your class time you can reschedule at no cost up to two (2) weeks
prior to the class. Rescheduling fewer than 14 days to your scheduled
class, cancelling, or not showing up to the class will result in full
forfeiture of your class fee. In the rare event that a class is cancelled
due to instructor illness or inclement weather, a make-up class will be
scheduled or students may transfer their registration to another scheduled
class with available space. Class registration fees are non-refundable.
Moxie & Oliver
Caitlin McNamara Sullivan, the artist and designer behind Moxie & Oliver, has been a professional leather artist since 2004. Through beginning, advanced and private classes, Caitlin shares her knowledge of the materials, history and process, as well as her original leathercrafting techniques with her students. Introductory courses are based around a small project, giving students the satisfaction of completing their first piece, as well as the desire to create more. Advanced courses and private lessons allow students to pursue their own directions with expert guidance.
