Beginning Jewelry Making

Instructor: Petrus Korver

Dates: Tuesdays 9/3-9/24 (4 sessions) Time: 6-9pm

Price: $200 + approx $65 supply fee depending on what you make
Level: Beginning to Intermediate

This class is designed for beginners and students that would like a refresh on their silversmithing skills. Students will be making a ring and the process will introduce them to sawing, filing, soldering, texturing, and polishing while learning to use the tools and chemicals safely.

If you are a first time student for this class you will need t bring: (supplies available at NW Rockhounds)

-16g sterling sheet 1″x3″

-1″x1″ piece of easy, medium & hard solder

-flux

-1 round cabochon preferably no larger than half the width of your finger. If you prefer a larger stone, you may get a round stone that is no larger than the width of your finger.

Returning students are welcome and will discuss a project to work on with Petrus and buy supplies accordingly.

If you cancel, we need 7 days notice for a refund or to reschedule.

We may cancel a class from time to time and we will do so within two or three days before the start of the class.

The Education Center holds monthly classes in a variety of artistic mediums such as beginning and advanced Lapidary, Silversmithing and Jewelry Making as well as lectures and seminars in rockhounding and conservation education.
