Photography: Beginning Digital


Learn the basics you need to take fabulous photos with your digital camera. Here is what you will learn in class

How to use the camera.

Get comfortable with the basics of operating your camera to get the best exposure by practicing adjusting shutter speed, aperture and ISO. Practice in fully manual and semi-automatic modes to quickly measure the light and focus on your subject.

How to shoot the photos.

You know how to use your camera, but how do you get an interesting photo? Why don’t your pictures look like what you see, or want to see? Creative assignments and in-class practice will help you to better express yourself visually. We’ll try black and white, HDR, panning and travel tips.

NOTE: Fully manual camera required.

Class Withdrawal -
You must notify Community Education two working days before class begins to receive a tuition refund, minus a $10 withdrawal fee. No refunds will be issued without proper notice.
*Note—registration fee is not refundable.
Class Changes and Cancellations -
Classes and workshops will be cancelled if they do not have the necessary enrollment one week prior to start date. You will be notified of such cancellations and receive a 100 percent refund.

About the Instructor

Leslie Saber

With expertise in both film and digital photography, Leslie C Saber has studied photography in Paris, Palm Springs and Seattle. Her fine art photography has been shown in galleries throughout Seattle and she has won many awards – including first prize in the 2007 Kodak photography contest. Her work has been published in Sunset Magazine and many on-line "zines." In 2005, Leslie founded SaberShots Photography which specializes in real estate, portrait and product photography. She has extensive experience teaching all levels of photography in a supportive, interactive and fun environment. An active volunteer and supporter of the arts in Seattle, Leslie teaches at the Photo Center Northwest in Seattle and Arts Now in Edmonds, Washington. Facebook:
