The Work of Leaders: Using DiSA for Vision, Alignment, and Execution


Much is written about what makes a successful leader, but many systems are either too vague or overly complex. The Work of Leaders distills leadership best practices to three basic steps—crafting a vision, building alignment, and championing execution—and reveals specific behaviors to support each step.

Before class, each participant takes an online leadership assessment (the Everything DiSC® Work of Leaders Profile) to reveal strengths and challenges in their own leadership behaviors. During class, participants discuss their personal experiences as well as general case studies. Video examples illustrate both the best practices and the traps that leaders fall into. The course ends with participants writing an action plan to further capitalize on their strengths and address their leadership challenges.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Craft a compelling organization or team vision
  • Build alignment around that vision
  • Champion execution in order to make the vision a reality
  • Prioritize areas for their own leadership development based on the results of the online assessment

This program is designed for supervisors and managers.

Prerequisite: 30 minutes (online leadership assessment)

Length: 7 hours

HRCI Credits: This program has been submitted to HR Certification Institute for review.
