This class will put the wines of WA state in perspective for you. You’ll learn what makes WA wines unique (the climate, the soil, and the Big Flood for starters…) in comparison to other wine regions while tasting through some great examples of what WA wines have to offer.
While most of us appreciate the high quality of Washington wines, few of us really understand why wines from here are special. In this class we will learn why, for example, the sometimes dramatic fluctuations between day and night temperatures significantly affect the character of our wines, how the lack of water gives winemakers a huge advantage and how and how a great flood helped define our vineyard land. And, of course, we will taste through some of the more interesting wines of Washington. You will never look at Washington wines the same way again.
